Samsung P3 Portable Driver Download Install Update
I had Vista and later Windows 7 and the M3 HD worked just fine with them, but I tried to back up my photos as I'd added photos from my Harry Potter Studio Tour trip and there was an error as the M3 couldn't find a back up source. I tried it again and same thing. I would obviously prefer it if the M3 did work with Windows Any way of getting around this issue please? Are you getting this error when you try to back up copy the files which are present on the computer to the Samsung M3 external hard drive? Did you check, if you are facing the same issue when you connect to different computer?
Expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers and check the status of your external hard drive. Do you see watermark symbol-yellow color triangle. This will re-install the USB drivers. Check if the issue is resolved. You may also refer to the below article on how to back-up in Windows In the Add a Drive option choose your Samsung m3 hard drive and check.
I would recommend you to check for latest Windows Updates. If you have any pending updates remaining to install, kindly install them and check if it helps.

I will try these over the weekend. I have also emailed Seagate technical help peeps and attached a screenshot of the error message. I have the same issue. I just bought a Samsung M3 portable 1tb drive. It is not recognised by the PC. I have checked the drivers on the motherboard and the external drive shows up on the device list of the motherboard as a disconnected device, but Win 10 will not recognise it in file explorer.
So I know the issue is not my motherboard. It must be windows I can't uninstall the USB device from device manager because it is simply not listed in the devices. I would suggest you to run the hardware troubleshooter as suggested by Deepak Kodi on December 3, and check the status of this issue.

It seems that in win 7 it works, but win 10 it's no reaction sound or notification when i plug in the usb into the laptop. Tell us about your experience with our site. This thread is locked. Run the Hardware troubleshooter and check. You may also check the device status in Device Manager. Do you see watermark symbol-yellow color triangle If the issue still persists, Un-install the USB drivers: Thanks for marking this as the answer. How satisfied are you with this reply? How satisfied are you with this response? In reply to Deepak Kodi's post on December 2, Hi Deepak I have the same issue. What can the problem be here? In reply to jkr's post on December 25, Hello, Thank you for posting. Reply us back with the status of this issue. We will be glad to assist you.
After emailing Seagate, this is the response I got: I haven't tried any of it, as I've reverted back to Windows 7 but good luck! Thank you for contacting Seagate Support. I understand that your installation of the Samsung AutoBackup software is not able to run a backup to your M3 Portable drive.
I would be glad to assist you. The Samsung AutoBackup software was only supported in Windows XP through Windows 8, and there are no plans to update the software to include Windows 10 compatibility. If you want to run backups and put data on the drive, you will have three options. Here are some links to some tech websites that can show you how to use File History. A 3rd party software would be one you purchase off the shelf, or get from some other source off the Internet. Here are some freeware sites that you can download some free backup software from.

O Replied on October 17, I have a windows 10 micromax canvas laptab and whenever I put my hard drive in the USB port I can see that it's being read but I can't open it or function it as whenever I open the devices column and I click on my Samsung m3 portable drive it opens the properties and doesn't function so is this a windows 10 issue?
