Proceed below at your own risk:. A lot of driver crashing is caused by Windows TDR issue. There is a huge post on GeForce forum about this here. However, editing the windows registry might solve the problem. Note that I have not personally tested this tool. What does the new Power Management option "Optimal Power" means? How does this differ from Adaptive? The new power management mode is related to what was said in the Geforce GTX keynote video.
To further reduce power consumption while the computer is idle and nothing is changing on the screen, the driver will not make the GPU render a new frame; the driver will get the one already rendered frame from the framebuffer and output directly to monitor.

It should re-enable your color profile. I'll check it out later. Their site appears to be down right now.. Is it just me or does a game feel choppy on borderless window mode compared to full screen? It's dota2 on with fix 60fps so I think frames aren't the issue This works for me, but I have to toggle it every time I alt-tab in or out of anything fullscreen, including my media player, and I need to be back in fullscreen mode before the night light "finishes" turning off, it's a mess.
Yeah, it was actually fixed in the Hotfix drive before this, so I'm guessing they are just mentioning it again for people that didn't get the Hotfix driver. And that fix did nothing for me. Seems to be a memory leak where after playing for a while it stutters and then loading a new level fixes it.
By playing for a while I mean hours. This game is amazing. Huh, the hotfix did work for me. My issue was when walking around larger areas like the Talos Lobby, it would stutter pretty bad when assets streamed from a lower to higher LOD. I haven't played it a ton to were it stutters over time, so I'm not sure if that's another possible issue. I found out it was something to do with the Xbox app causing problems for me. Open Powershell with admin rights and removed that shit.
I was having frequent stuttering in pretty much every game. Specifically, I play Rocket League the most, and I know my system can run it maxed out at fps no problem. I tried disabling the DVR function in the Xbox app via the registry I'm not signed into a MS account which you have to do to actually use the app , but that didn't help. After researching a bit more I found a way to remove the app entirely using the Powershell.
Issue went away immediately. This issue seems to be prevalent across all systems though. Initially I thought it was a Ryzen issue since the arch. The Beta App also lets you right-click uninstall it, unlike the regular app. I feel the Beta App is more responsive and gets messages and stuff to me quicker than the regular App.
The mic recording a constant static sound in vids regardless of the mic being turned off in Shadowplay seems to be fixed too. It's the same version of Shadowplay I was using before, so I'm not sure if something with the new driver fixed that, or DDUing the last driver out fixed it, whatever though. I did this previously, did the Creators update reinstall it?
If so, what are the steps to remove it again? I don't believe the Xbox application itself has any bearing on the functionality of the controller as a gamepad. Worst case you can just DL the driver for it. Just check the start menu to verify the command worked. I don't think you should need to restart.
I restarted after just to verify, but everything worked great afterwards! I've tried using Powershell to remove built-in apps since Onenote refuses to open, update, or uninstall, and it just gives me an error about not being able to find the app manifest. I get the feeling I'm going to have to do this. My computer hasn't been waking up from sleep either.
Have to hit the reset button nearly every time. Wasn't sure if that was an OS or hardware problem. Creator's update overall gets negative comments because that's how it always goes. People that get problems talk about them. If you have no problems, there's no reason to say anything. It's possible it may not be fixed in windows 8. After a day and a few resumes it crashed and reset for me. I tried it a few dozen times mostly in a row in windows 10 CU, so far everything went well.
I proceeded to just install the graphics driver and PhysX after following some advice on Reddit and it seemed to have fixed the problem. I've had zero blue-screen crashes after the system reboots from sleep.
I tried that with the previous drivers, it didn't change anything for me. I also keep all the nvidia audio outputs in playback devices disabled - don't know that it would help. It also happened today with Win 10 CU, after working normally for roughly a day just like 8. Before it wouldn't render anything - just a black screen and some flashing keyboard light then windows automatically reset.
Tried putting win 8. I'm pretty sure this is progress compared to the older drivers, but it's not fully solved yet. Either that, or it's only fixed for some. I will DDU clean install the previous drivers again to test. I tried it with I uninstalled the audio driver and it worked just like it does with the new Did this twice to be sure. The HD audio driver is the same version on. EDIT some days later: It's worked perfectly for 8 days, but I needed to reboot.
Otherwise seems like it could go for months. I don't know why this combination worked this time, but thanks, it did help.
